My daughter and I own a house together. If I die, does she owe tax?

Joint ownership and the deemed disposition.

Asked

Not sure if you can help but here's my question. My daughter and I own a house together. If I die does she have to pay inheritance taxes?

Clint’s answer

Probate is the name for the tax that the estate is subject to when a person passes away.

If your daughter and you are both on title as "Joint Tenants" giving the other person on title "Joint right of survivorship" then the house would not pass through probate and there will be no probate tax to pay on the house.
