Asked
If I get Canadian veterans medical insurance, can I claim the fees on my taxes?
Clint’s answer
Medical deductions can include premiums on extended health care and dental, yes.
Remember to keep receipts for all medical costs, and be sure to claim the portion of these that you pay out of pocket.
Your medical deductions will need to breach a ceiling of 3% of your taxable income or $2,833 if you're earning $94.5k or over before they start impacting your taxes.
Hope this helps

Update, October 2026: The 3% is of net income (line 23600), not taxable income, and you use whichever is lower: 3% or the fixed amount, which was $2,834 for 2025 and is $2,890 for 2026.
